What to Expect?

We begin by providing a comfortable, compassionate setting that promotes the building of a strong therapeutic alliance. It is our belief that a trusting, empathetic relationship is an important foundation for successful psychiatric care and mental health medication management. Psychoeducation becomes our next goal. We pay special emphasis on helping patients understand their illness and the available psychiatric medication and treatment options, ensuring the treatment choice is a mutual decision. We emphasize the importance of being transparent about the rationale for our treatment choice, the risk benefits of the mental health medications, and the expected prognosis of the illness. We work closely with patients and their families to provide comprehensive support and education about their treatment options.

Information is the recipe for success. Developing a keen and insightful knowledge of our patients is critical before diving into a treatment course. We obtain a thorough and comprehensive clinical history that is supplemented by psychiatric rating scales for various disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD, as well as prior medical and mental health records, and if necessary, input by family and caregivers. Most of our new patients will have a full panel of labs and many will get genetic testing to determine how our genes effect psychiatric medication efficacy and tolerability.

Next, we will develop a personalized treatment plan. At our practice, we carefully assessing each individual’s unique needs and developing a customized psychiatric medication managemen regimen to optimize results. Our clinicians stay up-to-date on both the old and new. We are adept in using the very best of older traditional treatments as well as cutting-edge, novel therapeutics to ensure our patients receive the most effective medication management for mental health and treatments available. Our treatment plan is not limited to just medications. We use a Bio-Psycho-Social approach where lifestyle, coping skills, medical health, supplements, and adjunct technologies (such as light therapy and alpha stimulator treatment) are a pivotal part of the plan.

Our Philosophy

Our approach to selecting psychiatric medication and therapeutics relies on the evidence-based medicine. Each and every one of us is very familiar with the latest and best practice principles because we are lifelong students continually learning through journal articles, continuing medical education (CME) lectures, and team meetings. While the scientific data driven approach is important, it should be heavily tempered by a personalized format. Medicine is both a science and an art. Evidence-based treatments created by researchers are not personalized. They are based on averages and limited in addressing comorbidity, heterogeneity, and the needs of clients with minoritized identities. At CC, the clinical judgment of our medication management psychiatrists is based on a marriage of a patient’s unique needs and evidence-based data.

When it comes to psychopharmacology a collective brain is better than an individual brain. Our medication management psychiatrist team works collaboratively, ensuring comprehensive and thoughtful care. We do not work in independent silos. We are a family that constantly consult and learn from each other through frequent impromptu communications and scheduled weekly individual supervision and team meetings.

Our medication management for mental health services are designed to monitor and adjust treatments as needed, providing continuous support and adjustments to optimize mental health. By closely monitoring the effects of medication, we can make timely changes that enhance the overall effectiveness of the treatment plan.

The most famous quote never uttered by Einstein is “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”. At CC, we are very careful not to go in circles, trying the same approach over and over again. We are diligently proactive in thinking both inside and outside the box in pursuing a solution in the fastest and safest manner. Unlike traditional psychopharmacology practices, we have a vast armamentarium of novel options ranging from novel antidepressants (that work on glutamate), to latest forms of TMS, to ketamine, to various forms of psychotherapy to find a breakthrough and offer the most advanced mental health medication management near you. If we lack the solution we will seek collaboration with our vast network of colleagues, who provide more invasive or experimental treatment options.

Our thoughtful, multidisciplinary approach has achieved some of the highest success rates and satisfaction levels. Our philosophy is not just to get people better, but help them become well, free of illness. We are proud to announce that as many as 50% of our patients become ‘graduates’ of CC, who achieve remission and are able to successfully come off medications. Our goal is to get people off psychiatric medication as soon as it is clinically feasible.

When you join the CC family, your wellness becomes our utmost priority.
