Carol Rubeo is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Albany and completed her nursing education through an accelerated program at the College of New Rochelle. Carol graduated Cum Laude from Pace University with a degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
With a diverse background in mental health care, Carol began her career as a Mental Health Worker at an inpatient psychiatric hospital and a TMS treater here at Contemporary Care. She then gained valuable medical experience working for 3.5 years on a Surgical Stepdown unit. Over the past 3 years, she has specialized in adolescent psychiatry at an inpatient psychiatric hospital, treating acute psychotic disorders, self-injurious behavior, conduct disorder, PTSD, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder. Her clinical expertise is further supported by her extensive experience in conducting initial evaluations for new admissions at New York Presbyterian Hospital as well as an internship at Contemporary Care with Dr. Perera doing medication management and ketamine therapy.
