Spravato is a nasal ketamine- esketamine. Adults suffering from Treatment Resistant Depression TRD who have not adequately responded to at least 2 different oral antidepressants. Only a doctor can prescribe Sparvato. The nasal spray is administered at a certified treatment center. The patient is under the direct observation of a healthcare provider who will monitor them during the following two hours for side effects. Patients are treated in an outpatient setting. The patient will need to plan for rides after treatment because they cannot drive, operate machinery, or do anything where they need to be completely alert until the next day after a restful sleep.
